This guidance is for the purchase of adult bats. Children size bats are scaled down in size and weight to suit the age group of the child and to assist technical ability.

Batting/ Keeping Pads
The simplest method for ascertaining the correct size of the pad is by measuring the distance between the middle of the knee cap to the instep (where the tongue of your shoe would sit); this gives you the length of pad required. The table below gives an approximate guide to the length of pads for each size. Please note that unfortunately sizes can vary slightly between manufacturers.

Helmets
To measure for a helmet you should run a tape measure around the middle of the forehead, just above the eyebrows, around the side (just above the ears) and across the bump at the back of the head. A good fitting helmet should be worn with the peak protruding horizontally from the line of the eyebrows.
